How to Translate a Video on Your Phone

You don't need an app to translate a video on your phone. mydubly runs in the mobile browser — but because the video is processed on your device, phones are best for shorter clips.

Steps

  1. Open sameframe in Safari or Chrome on your phone.
  2. Tap the upload area and pick the video from Photos or Files.
  3. Choose the language and, for a voice track, switch Full translation output on.
  4. Keep the screen on and the tab open until it finishes.
  5. Download the results to Files.

What to expect on a phone

  • Reading a long video uses memory and battery, because the audio is extracted on your device.
  • For very large videos, your phone may give you the translated audio track instead of a combined MP4.
  • Text-only jobs (transcripts and subtitles) are the lightest and work best on phones.
  • For videos close to the 2-hour limit, use a computer.
