Why it helps
Screen recordings are cheap to make but hard to localise. Translating the narration keeps every click and screen identical.
Step by step
- Export the recording (Loom-style tools usually give WebM or MP4; QuickTime gives MOV).
- Translate it, then review UI labels in the transcript — they often stay in English.
- Publish in your help centre with the VTT captions.
Tips
- If your UI is localised, describe actions ('click Save') clearly so the translation matches the localised button names.
Example
A SaaS support team translates a 6-minute setup walkthrough into French and German for 300 credits (30¢) each.
Cost: 300 credits (30¢).
Limitations to know
- On-screen UI text isn't translated.
Using the tool on this page
- The spoken language is detected automatically; you select the output language — the spoken language itself for an untranslated transcript, or another language for a translation. Files can be up to 2 hours long.
- Only the audio is sent for processing — the video stays on your device — and audio and text are deleted within 30 minutes of delivery (how files are protected).
- You can download a translated video that keeps your music and effects, the translated audio as M4A, a transcript and subtitles (SRT and VTT). Every output, step and limit is explained on the video translator page.
